On Thursday, the day begins with parallel Q01–Q03 project meetings, followed by the Welcome and General Assembly, where updates from all projects will be presented. After lunch, participants will engage in parallel project presentations across all areas, covering topics from neural mechanisms of aggression to social and environmental influences on behavior. The afternoon includes a coffee break, a wrap-up session, and a presentation by the Equal Opportunities Committee reflecting on equity and awareness within the TRR one year later. The day concludes with a dinner and social evening, providing opportunities for informal networking and discussion.
Friday, February 13th #
Friday opens with the “World Café,” an interactive format encouraging cross-disciplinary dialogue and idea exchange. This is followed by closing remarks and a coffee break. The retreat’s scientific highlight is the keynote lecture by Martin Rettenberger, focusing on current results in sexual violence research, including the relevance of mental disorders and neuropsychological findings for predicting sexual (re-)offending. Afterward, participants will explore the TRR’s social media initiative, “angry.brains,” and enjoy a small lunch buffet. The afternoon features parallel meetings of the Citizen Advisory Board and the Equal Opportunities Committee, concluding with an extended Steering Committee meeting.
The 2nd TRR 379 Retreat is an opportunity to present cutting-edge research, reflect on ongoing projects, and strengthen the collaborative spirit of the TRR community, all within a stimulating scientific and social environment.
